In a 2013 interview with the DailyMail, Ball revealed that she doesn't want to give into certain beauty standards. "There is so much pressure to nip and tuck, but I have learnt the secret of perfect ageing from the beautiful women in my life – my mums and Norm's mums. It is wisdom, patience, fun and love that make a woman beautiful, not a line-free forehead and an alien Doctor Who face. We should age gracefully, as nature intended."

Ball is open about her wellness on Instagram. She recently revealed that she started educating herself on things like supplements to help her. "Been struggling this past year with my menopause weight gain & water retention and all sorts. Trying to jumpstart a healthier routine. Have been learning lots about supplements & teas & diet & ways to combat menopause madness – will keep sharing any good find."

On an episode of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, Ball talked about what she is doing to get in shape for hosting Strictly. "I'm doing intermittent fasting," she said. "Because I'm trying to lose a bit of my holiday ham and cheese hips before Strictly starts." Ball also admitted that while it can be difficult to stick to her schedule, she makes sure to. "That lot next door are all eating this cake because it's Good Food's 30th birthday," she recalled. "They've sent us this lovely cake, they've saved you a slice they promise us. I know, but I have to wait until 12, I'm having mine at 12, that's when I'm having it, I promise you!"

Ball tells Woman and Home that she likes to eat healthy snacks when she's working. "My job is a demanding one, I often find myself rushing around from the radio station to a meeting or filming. Particularly when we are filming Strictly and I'm doing radio at same time, I find that I burn huge amounts of energy and that makes me very hungry. I've learnt over time that thinking ahead and having some healthy and nutritious snacks between meals, does keep me going throughout the day – which means I don't dive into the biscuit tin or chocolates on set! We all lead such busy lives these days, knowing you have some go-to snacks that can give you that extra va va voom is essential!"

Ball tells Woman and Home that she gets some of her wellness tips from social media. Notably, she took on an eating challenge. "I also love picking up tips from others on twitter/instagram too. I've recently taken the 21 Day Snack Happy challenge – snacking on a handful of almonds once a day for 21 days – and this is definitely an idea I can recommend. 21 days is the amount of time it takes to break a habit, so you can take the challenge and pick up a healthier snacking habit, without even realising you've done it – it's just so easy!"
